The couple had read conflicting information online about whether they needed a business license to work in the UAE or whether employment contracts were sufficient. One wanted to operate as a freelancer; the other intended to join a UAE employer. They needed to understand the difference between a business license and an employment visa before making a decision.
We provided a detailed pre-relocation advisory session distinguishing between the investor visa tied to a company formation, the employment visa through a local employer, and the freelance permit option through selected free zones. We mapped out the costs and timelines for each route and helped them identify which free zone would be most appropriate for the nurse's freelance activity given MOHAP licensing requirements.
The couple proceeded with a company formation for the financial planner and a freelance permit through Dubai Healthcare City for the nurse. Both are now resident in Dubai and operating legally within their respective structures.
