Nigerian entrepreneur case study: Two years of management accounts prepared

Nigerian entrepreneur in Nigeria Two years of management accounts prepared.

Financial records and accounting reports spread across a desk

    Situation

The client had been running all transactions through his personal UAE bank account rather than his company account, had no invoices on file, and had not engaged any accountant. He was approaching his company's second annual renewal and had become aware that he might face scrutiny from his bank's compliance team.

    What We Did

We began with a full reconstruction of his transaction history using two years of bank statements, categorizing receipts and payments and building a basic set of management accounts. We identified several transactions that needed to be properly documented and advised him on how to formalize his supplier and client contracts going forward. We also set him up on an accounting system and provided a basic chart of accounts suited to his trading activity.

    Outcome

Two years of management accounts prepared. Bank statements reconciled. Client is now on a monthly bookkeeping retainer and his company records are in order ahead of renewal.
