UK-based technology company case study: All three employees hired and onboarded within 5 weeks

UK-based technology company in United Kingdom All three employees hired and onboarded within 5 weeks.

UK technology team planning cross-border employer of record hiring

    Situation

The company had gone through a 4-month process trying to incorporate in Kenya and had stalled on local director requirements and paid-up capital rules. Their HR team had no experience with African employment law and was concerned about permanent establishment risk if they hired through contractors. They needed a solution within 6 weeks.

    What We Did

We provided an Employer of Record solution through our East African network, allowing the UK company to hire all three individuals as legally employed staff in their respective countries without the UK company needing local entities. We handled employment contracts, payroll, statutory deductions, and monthly remittance reporting for each jurisdiction.

    Outcome

All three employees hired and onboarded within 5 weeks. UK company has no legal entity in Africa and no permanent establishment exposure. Two of the three employees have since been offered permanent contracts; EOR arrangement continues.
